Column Selection Guide
Choose a Benson column using application, ionic form, cross-link density, USP designation and dimension.
Start with the analyte and method
Identify whether the method targets carbohydrates, fermentation components or organic acids. Preserve a validated USP classification when method transfer requires it.
Select ionic form
Hydrogen, calcium, sodium, lead, potassium and silver forms are represented in the catalog. Ionic form is a primary selectivity choice and should not be changed casually during method transfer.
Compare cross-link density
The catalog distinguishes BP-200 at 4%, BP-100 at 6%, BP-700 at 7% and BP-800 or BP-OA at 8% where applicable.
Choose dimensions and protection
Use the exact catalog table to select length and internal diameter. Match a guard column to the same resin chemistry and ionic form where available.
